"I get asked more and more through the anniversary campaign, how did Javena actually start? Well, it went like this: I started Javena in 2014, basically as a 'hobby that got out of hand.' So basically I turned my hobby into my job. That’s great, right?!
The exact founding date was September 1, 2014. Then as 'Jacobs Vraag en Aanbod' (translated: Jacobs Supply and Demand) with buying and selling second-hand stuff. From 2018 the business began to take on more serious forms as I got contacts with suppliers of new items such as wheelbarrows and parts, office supplies and later safes and storage devices. Check out the website! Today, you will also find, among other things, hinges and locks, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and more safety solutions in our webshop.
In 2019, the naming evolved to the current name Javena, which originated from JAcobs Vraag EN Aanbod. (Like it or not? :-).  Second-hand items I still do (with), because I continue to enjoy this, but I have split this off to SecondhandWebstore.eu.

In recent years I have started to focus more on the industry 'Safety and Security'. This is due to my years of working in the process industry, where I always had a good time. That's also where safety has always interested me as a person.
And so Javena grew larger. More and more companies, but also many private individuals found and still find their way to Javena.nl and specifically for products for the safety and security industry of course to JavenaSafety.com.

The good quality of the articles and the rather diverse range caused many returning customers. Of course I was very happy and proud of that. It was confirmation for me that I was on the right track. In 2023, I dared to make the decision to really focus exclusively on being self-employed. And it was a good choice. Of course it is hard work, after all you are on 24/7, but I do it with love and passion.
